Happy Birthday, Joel!

Today is Joel's ninth birthday! We first had our traditional chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, and then opened presents. He got all the parts of a new skateboard wrapped seperately, starting with the nuts and bolts and ending with the deck. We took them to him one at a time, smallest to biggest, and it was funny watching his face win he saw only the nuts and bolts!

Then we took him to Bali Blue, a surf/skate shop. That was where we got all of the parts, and so the skateboard was put together for free! It took a long time because a few of the nuts and bolts from the same pack were different sizes from the others in that pack! But he was a very happy boy when it was finished.

After much traffic, we finally arrived at Vans skatepark. That place is huge! It is mostly indoors, but there is a little park outside. There were some really good skaters and rollerbladers there! One person on rollerblades went up a ramp and did a 180 frontflip! Joel was really good. He tried all sorts of crazy things!

When we got back home my Uncle Mike and Aunt Pam were already here, and right now we are getting ready to have supper with them. They live in North Carolina. I love having them here! Uncle Mike's birthday was yesterday. He is so funny. He is in school right now and is almost finished. Aunt Pam is fun because she likes to do scrapbooking with me. Families are great! I am so happy that my whole family is involved in my life.
