My dad surprised us by taking us to the zoo in D.C.! :)
We saw tons of animals, but I won’t show you ALL of them because that would take a really long time. But this post will still be really long. :P
Otters! They spent a really long time trying to open that oyster.
Panda! :)
This is a Golden Lion Tamarin.
And this thing, heh, is a Pale-headed Saki. (Glenna—it’s a Saki!! Haha :D)
It was funny lookin’.
That little furball is a Geoffrey’s Marmoset. (IT’S SO FLUFFY!!)
Elephant shrew! Everything in the small mammal house was really funny looking. :D
Exit the small mammal house.
Cuz this ain’t no small mammal. It was a REALLY big komodo dragon.
Joel was pretty excited about this place.
This is a big starfish. They named him Patrick :)
GIANT PACIFIC OCTOPUS! It wasn’t actually that big.
This, on the other hand, was HUGE! I mean, for a lobster.
I know it’s not a good picture, but now you can tell how big it is!
Next, the reptiles!
Check out the colors on this one! It’s a Green Crested Basilisk.
That’s an anaconda, the worlds largest snake! Eeeep!
Green tree python…ugh…I am not a fan of snakes.
Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake! Scawy!!
This thin was really funny looking. It’s a Grand Cayman Iguana.
Next, we saw the BIG animals!
Then, my favorite part--
You may not know this, but I LOVE gorillas! :)
This is an orangutan. His name is Kyle. He was very sad-looking.
But he played tug-o-war with Josh! They had set up a big rope so you can play with them!
Yay! Gorillas!! (They were eating their…their…well, you know…ewww!)
They were also eating cardboard! I mean, the zoo people give them cardboard to eat! Maybe to distract them from eating their…their…you know…ewww!!
Aww baby!! :)
Next: D.C.!
