Saturday Sightings: Watauga Lake

We have gone to Watauga Lake twice since we moved. It’s beautiful! The first time we went by ourselves. It was cold!

  003 004 005 Hobbes came :)

006   You can tell that we were cold!009That’s Joel.

The second time we went was when my Uncle Rick and Aunt Jeri were here, just a few weeks ago. They have a friend with a trailer on the lake, and they let us use it. It was so nice!

077 078  080 081  The whole F family came.083 084  Mom made salsa and guacamole :) 087 086

And Josh and Uncle Mike fished, of course!

088  091 092  095 096  Uncle Rick grilled burgers!

099 Mmm… It was a gorgeous day for a picnic!

101 Aunt Jeri with Sweet Pea :) Love this one!

106

There was a dock going out into the lake. 108 110 113 114 Dad, Joel, and I hung out there for a while while others went on a walk.

115 116 Look at her hat! Aww!

118 It was really strange; there was an underwater dock. It looked like they had to build a new one because the waters were too high!

119  The water was really cold, and The Boys had races to see who could walk the whole thing first.

122 Mollie Moo came to the dock with us :)

123 125   128

The really cool thing about this lake is that there is a town in it. They evacuated the people and opened a dam, flooding the town, and creating a gorgeous lake!

Saturday Sightings: Laurel Falls

“Saturday Sightings.” You might be wondering why I had that poll up. Well now you know. I’m starting a new…segment?…on my blog. Since we go exploring practically every Saturday, I’m going to post about it the Saturday after we do it. So hopefully there will be a Saturday Sighting post every Saturday! (Although right now I’m behind on posting, so the first few won’t have happened the Saturday before.)

We went to Laurel Falls a few weeks ago with my Grandpa F and Hobbes.

015 016 017 It was a beautiful day! 019 022 024 025 026 027 028 I really didn’t like this bridge. It was cool, but not when a hyper schnauzer is pulling you across it!

030 031 The falls were HUGE and GORGEOUS!!

006 Dad and The Boys climbed to the top :) Can you see them up there?

008 013 014

The biggest waterfall we’ve been to since we moved here! Definitely will want to go back. :)
